About the event
Sean is from the Ozarks and is currently on the film festival circuit with his latest feature film, AMERICAN OUTLAWS. He has won numerous awards over the years for work as a producer, including ANOTHER HAPPY DAY starring Demi Moore, which went on to win an award at Sundance. He also helped produce dark comedy BERNIE, starring Jack Black and Matthew McConaughey (directed by Richard Linklater).

OFFICIAL BIOGRAPHY: FILMMAKER & PRODUCER SEAN MCEWEN
Sean McEwen is an award-winning director, writer and producer who has earned various awards, including “Best Film”, “Best Director”, “Best Screenplay” at the prestigious 2023 Boston Film Festival (“American Outlaws”), “Best Of The Fest” at the Sanctuary International Film Festival (“Braking For Whales”) and the AOI International “Best of Fest” award for “Happy’s Last Wish”. Sean produced the Sundance award-winning feature film, “Another Happy Day” (starring Demi Moore, Kate Bosworth, Ellen Barkin, Thomas Haden Church), the SXSW and Critics Choice award-winner “Bernie” (directed by Richard Linklater, starring Jack Black, Matthew McConaughey, Shirley MacLaine), and the Tribeca selected film, “Graceland” (New York Times Critic Pick). His newest film projects include; directing, writing and producing the Santa Barbara International Film Festival premier “American Outlaws” a true-life crime drama based on the award-winning GQ article , “The Whole True Story of The Dougherty Gang” and the critically acclaimed and the theatrically released “Braking For Whales” starring Tom Felton (The “Harry Potter” franchise), Wendi McLendon-Covey (“The Goldbergs”, “Bridemaids”), David Koechner (“Anchorman”), Tammin Sursok (“Pretty Little Liars”) and Austin Swift. His newest film projects include writing and producing the life story of 5-time world boxing champion Johnny Tapia, co-produced by Mike Tyson and the scripted limited TV series based on the number one podcast in the world, “The Piketon Massacre” (iHeart Radio) which currently has 24 million individual downloads. Sean will direct his next feature - “Turnbuckle” - in winter of 2023, with original music and score provided by seminal rock band Janes Addiction. Sean is from the Ozarks (Southern Missouri / Northern Arkansas) and currently resides in Nashville Tennessee.
